I had the pleasure of attending the 2007 Man, Woman & Celebrity of the Year event tonight, held at The Meadows Events and Conference Center (Prairie Meadows, Altoona).  Benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, this was the Grand Finale of a 9 week fundraising competition between men, women and local celebrities from central Iowa.  It included an exciting live and silent auction, dinner, the honor patients video program and it concluded with the fundraising awards ceremony.  More than $360,000 were raised - setting another record for this local fundraising event.  The highlight for me was meeting and learning more about two young survivors, named as the Boy and Girl of the year.  Funds were raised in honor of Garrett and Xiadani.  It was a fun evening for a great cause.
