Iowa Caucus Results For 2008 | The Iowa Caucuses

Crazy Caucus Fun in IowaReady for some Iowa caucus results?  After months of waiting, and tens of thousands of political ads, the earliest Iowa Caucus date in history is here.  January 3rd is when it all goes down, and there’s no hiding from it now.  It’s time to get down to some good old fashioned grassroots politics, and the world is watching Des Moines and all of Iowa.  The Iowa Caucus polls identify the early Democratic and Republican winners and losers from all Iowa caucus locations.

The “first in the nation” Iowa Caucuses have been around for a whopping 35 years, and this may well be the most exciting caucus poll I can recall.  If you are at least 18 years old (or will be before election day - November 4, 2008), head on over to the location of your local precinct and caucus for your favorite candidate.  You need to be a registered voter (which you can do that night, if you haven’t done so already) and I’d strongly recommend that you visit IowaFirstCaucus.org (for Democrats) or IowaGOP.net (for Republicans) to find out more.  On these sites, you can find your Caucus location, read about the rules of the game, register to vote, learn about the straw poll results, and so much more.

If you’re a Democratic, you can…

caucus for Joe Biden
caucus for Hillary Clinton
caucus for Chris Dodd
caucus for John Edwards
caucus for Mike Gravel
caucus for Dennis Kucinich
caucus for Barack Obama
caucus for Bill Richardson

If you’re a Republican, you can…

caucus for Rudy Giuliani
caucus for Mike Huckabee
caucus for Duncan Hunter
caucus for John McCain
caucus for Ron Paul
caucus for Mitt Romney
caucus for Tom Tancredo
caucus for Fred Thompson

Regardless of your political affiliation, or who you plan to vote for, the Iowa Caucuses should be a lot of fun.  And what will be the end result of all this excitement?  Delegates will be chosen to participate in upcoming county conventions, where delegates will be selected for district conventions, where delegates will be narrowed for the state conventions, where guess who???… delegates (again) will be picked for the national convention.  And in the end, our Iowa delegates will vote for a single candidate for president, and another for vice president.

So, do you have any predictions?  I predict we’ll see and hear fewer commercials ending in the now infamous words, “…and I approve this message!”.  For many, many reasons…I can’t wait for the results…so get out there and let’s show the rest of the world that Iowa can caucus with the best of them.

  1. Obama has a lot of potential as a nominee.
For a future election cycle, not now. He may
or may not be too inexperienced to actually
handle the job, but he is definitely too
inexperienced to handle the GOP/Rove smear
machine that will be unleashed on him in the
    fall.

“Oh, he admits doing drugs. Pot? Cocaine?
HEROIN?!” “Was he an addict? Where did he get
his supply? Was he a DRUG DEALER?!”

Tip of the iceberg, from the Swift Boat Liars
    for Truth crowd.

“Oh. He grew up in Asia. Did he go to an Islamic
    school? Obama, OSAMA?!”

Only the Clintons, know how to stand up to that
garbage. And you know it’s coming. It’s the only
    card the bankrupt GOP has.
