Des Moines Race for the Cure–October 25th, 2008

The Komen Race for the Cure is set for October 25th in Des Moines. The event will be held at Grand Avenue and 9th Street . Last year about 15,000 people took part in this event to help raise awareness about Breast Cancer. October is set aside as the National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Activities begin at 8:15 with photos of survivors…9:00 am with a 5k run (or walk)….the mile walk starts at 9:30…and the kid’s fun run begins at 10:30 am. There will be other activities to participate in throughout the morning. The event features something for the whole family.
