Google Sends James Bond To Des Moines
The Des Moines Partnership and the Iowa Chapter of the American Marketing Association have teamed up to bring a series of presentations called “Untangling the Web” to central Iowa. Part one of the series kicked off today (12.04.08) at Des Moines Golf & Country Club where Google’s very own James Bond (seriously!) spoke about 5 ways to take advantage of the current online “engagement” phase.
Up until today, the only Google employee I’d ever met was Matt Cutts (who incidently is the guy with Google’s current ranking algorithm tucked away in the deep recesses of his mind), so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Well, I was impressed with Mr. Bond. Not only did he really know his stuff, he also did a great job of working the crowd - although admittedly on Sudafed (James, not the crowd). If James ever decides to leave the Big G, I see stand up comedy in his future (video evidence below). I think I even heard James use the word “Google” as a verb, so watch the mail for a letter from the mothership, Jim.

Daphne, I couldn’t agree with you more. James Bond shared some exciting information about how businesses can gain a competitive advantage using Google’s tools - many of which are free. Looking forward to the next one.
