Online Furniture Store | Log, Wicker, Pine, Cottage | Iowa

Log Furniture From American CountryI was searching for wicker chairs this weekend when I discovered that one of the best furniture stores online is located near Des Moines, Iowa.  American Country Home Store is based in Ames and offers home furnishings from pine furniture to wicker, as well as French country bistro patio furniture.  Their online inventory includes items to decorate your home, like reproduction clocks, lamps, stars, area rugs, and even French & cottage linens.

When you first go to their website, you’ll notice that American Country Home Store carries Yield House furniture.  You might recall that Yield House was a national catalog store for years…however they now simply have an on-line catalog that mainly includes solid pine furniture - made in the USA!  Their custom-made furniture is offered in one or two color finishes.

After looking at several wicker chairs on their main site, I found a link to their Wicker furniture store at www.americancountrywicker.com .  One nice feature is that you can customize your wicker items by selecting from several cushion fabrics, or you can send in your own.  Also, you can chose from the most popular frame colors including bisque, sage or distressed black. From the description on their site, their wicker is designed to resemble the classic styles found at old resorts and lodges in New England.

Another specialty item at American Country is cafe furniture.  This outdoor furniture is created for terraces and small cafes, known as bistros.  A set of folding chairs and tables would be the perfect way to relax and enjoy the outdoors “European style”.  Maybe for my wife’s birthday I’ll get her a ‘piece of Paris’ to add to our patio…or an entire, authentic bistro set.  Evidently these pieces are shipped directly from France, and you can see all the details at www.bistropatio.com.

Anyway, if you’re looking for another option as you shop for new furniture in Des Moines, try out these sites…or take the short drive to Ames.
